The tenancy is terminated effective January 22, 2023. The tenant must pay the landlord $33,316.70, which includes compensation for use and occupation of the unit, repair costs for damage, and the application filing fee. The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenant due to the tenant, another occupant, or someone the tenant permitted seriously impairing the safety of any person and wilfully causing undue damage to the premises.
Tenant failed to comply with fire inspection order and was charged under the Fire Protection and Prevention Act. Tenant removed smoke/CO detectors after they were installed.
Tenant's behavior has caused significant damage to the rental unit and has seriously impaired the safety of others. There is no indication that either behavior will stop.
