The Landlord altered the locking system, substantially interfered with the Tenant's reasonable enjoyment, and harassed the Tenant. The Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 applies. The Landlord must pay the Tenant $6,792.65 and an administrative fine of $10,000 to the LTB.
Tenant applied for an order determining that Landlord altered the locking system on a door giving entry to the rental unit or residential complex without giving the Tenant replacement keys, substantially interfered with the reasonable enjoyment of the rental unit or residential complex by the Tenant or by a member of their household, and harassed, obstructed, coerced, threatened or interfered with the Tenant.
The Residential Tenancies Act, 2006 does not apply.
Landlord ignored the Tenant's pending A1 application and proceeded with the eviction.
