To allow the Tenant time to vacate the unit
Landlord applied to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to the Tenant seriously impairing the safety of others by tampering with the gas meter, and wilfully causing undue damage to the property.
Tenant argued he had no heat or hot water for 5 months and had withheld rent hoping the Landlord would resolve issues with the other tenant.
Tenant removed gas meter lock and turned gas back on, believing it was a prank.
