The Landlord threatened the Tenant with bodily harm on February 21, 2022, breaching s. 23 of the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006. The Landlords are ordered to pay the Tenant $2,172.81 for abatement of rent and costs, and to refrain from uttering any further threats of bodily harm.
Tenant applied for an order determining that Landlords harassed, obstructed, coerced, threatened or interfered with the Tenant. The application was about a single incident that allegedly occurred on February 21, 2022 where the Landlord threatened the Tenant with bodily harm.
Tenant called the police the day after the incident but was told charges would not be laid. Tenant started keeping a baseball bat and a mag light under his bed, and later had cameras installed.
