Landlord must pay Tenant $1,684.34 for excess rent collected, failure to return rent deposit, and interest. Landlord must also pay Tenant $2,551.98 in rent abatement for illegal entry, substantial interference with enjoyment, and lack of fire alarm. Total amount owed to Tenant is $4,236.32, to be paid by October 19, 2024.
Tenant filed applications alleging the Landlord collected illegal rent increases, failed to return the rent deposit, entered the rental unit illegally, substantially interfered with the Tenant's reasonable enjoyment, and harassed the Tenant.
Landlord demanded additional $300 rent if Tenant's daughter stayed, threatened to call police if Tenant didn't leave.
