Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant because the Landlord requires vacant possession of the rental unit in order to do major repairs or renovations to the unit.
The Landlord Representative testified that the company purchased the 12-unit building in November 2022 and the building and all of the units were in a state of disrepair and required extensive renovation. Repairs were ordered by the Burk's Falls Fire Department as the residential complex contains numerous fire safety issues and is not up to code.
The Landlord has proven the grounds for termination of the tenancy. The tenancy is terminated effective September 7, 2024. If the unit is not vacated by that date, the Landlord may file the order with the Court Enforcement Office (Sheriff) for enforcement.
