The tenancy is terminated effective January 31, 2021. The Tenants must pay the Landlord $13,141.20 in rent arrears and application costs, plus $40.60 per day in compensation starting December 24, 2020. If the Tenants do not pay the full amount by January 31, 2021, the Landlord may file the order with the Sheriff to enforce the eviction.
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The Tenants had lost their rent subsidy and were being charged market rent, which they did not pay.
Landlord's agent stated the Tenants lost their rent subsidy over a year ago and have been informed multiple times, but have not taken steps to regain it or pay the correct market rent.
Tenants said their income is from ODSP and they have 'filled out papers' and given them to their housing worker, but have not taken any further action to regain their rent subsidy.
