File Number: LTB-L-038703-22-RV
Application Date
Dec 2022
Hearing Date
May 2023
Order Date
May 30, 2023
Tenancy End Date
Jun 2023
The tenancy is terminated unless the tenants pay $6,756 by May 31, 2023 or $7,506 by June 30, 2023 to void the order. If the tenants do not pay, they must vacate the unit by June 30, 2023. The landlord is entitled to $6,277.26 in rent arrears and application fees.
The Board granted a 1 month delay in eviction due to the tenant having young children, despite the large rent arrears.
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to non-payment of rent. The tenants requested a review of the original order, stating they did not receive the notice of hearing. The review hearing was granted, and a new hearing was held.
Landlord sought a standard order, stating the tenant has issues sticking to payment plans and the landlord has had difficulty keeping up with expenses for the property.
Landlord's representative stated the tenant has been in multiple repayment plans but failed to comply with the terms, causing the arrears to keep mounting.
Tenant requested a repayment plan and stated she has been communicating with ODSP to have them pay rent directly to the landlord.
Tenant Tabitha Meecham stated she never received the notice of hearing, and tried to contact the landlord's representative but did not receive a response.
