The Landlord's application to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant for non-payment of rent is granted. The Tenant may void the order by paying the full amount owing by November 15, 2024. If the Tenant does not pay, the tenancy will be terminated and the Tenant must vacate the unit by November 15, 2024.
Considering the length of the tenancy and the Tenant's limited income, the eviction is being postponed to provide the Tenant with time to find new living arrangements.
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the Tenant due to non-payment of rent. The Tenant requested a review of the original order and the order was stayed until the review was heard.
Tenant testified that her only source of income is Ontario Works and it is not enough to cover the monthly rent amount. She is expecting to start receiving a pension in October and could start paying $1,000 per month towards the monthly rent and arrears.
