The Landlord failed to meet their maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006. The Tenant is awarded a rent abatement of $3,000 for the 10-month period prior to the end of the tenancy, and the Landlord is ordered to pay the Tenant $3,048, which includes the rent abatement and the application filing fee.
Tenant filed a T6 application alleging that the Landlord failed to meet their maintenance obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006. The Tenant listed numerous issues with the rental unit and premises, including a poorly maintained fire escape, infestations, deteriorating walls and floors, and electrical safety issues.
