Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants because the Landlords require possession of the rental unit for the purpose of residential occupation.
The Landlords established that they require the rental unit for their own residential occupation in good faith. The Tenants' request for a delay in eviction until December 31, 2021 is reasonable and does not cause unfair inconvenience to the Landlords.
Landlord Christopher Stackhouse testified that his employer's decision to relocate the head office to Toronto in June 2021 led to his decision to seek possession of the rental unit for his own residential use.
