The Tenant's motion to set aside the eviction order was denied. The stay of the eviction order will be lifted on October 12, 2020, to afford the Tenant some opportunity to process the decision and attempt to locate alternative housing.
Landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenant due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after the Tenant failed to meet the conditions of a previous order issued by the Board on March 2, 2020.
Tenant stated his inability to pay rent is directly related to the pandemic and its impact on his finances. He was laid off at the end of March 2020 and not recalled until mid-July but on reduced hours.
