The tenancy was terminated effective February 28, 2022 if the Tenants did not pay $21,135.55 to void the eviction order and continue the tenancy. If the Tenants did not make this payment, the Landlords could file the order with the Court Enforcement Office to enforce the eviction.
Landlords applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict Tenants due to failure to pay rent. The application was filed after serving a valid Notice to End Tenancy Early for Non-payment of Rent (N4 Notice), which the Tenants did not void by paying the arrears.
Tenants did not pay rent since August 2020, despite receiving some income during this time. Tenant WT testified that in August 2020, Tenant DB-T had to help pay the costs of a funeral.
Tenants failed to comply with the Board's directions to pay June 2021 rent and provide documentation.
