The LTB denied the tenants' request to review the December 9, 2024 review order, finding that the tenants' excuses for not attending the November 26, 2024 hearing were not sufficient to justify another review hearing. The LTB determined that the tenants could have participated in the hearing had they exercised reasonable diligence.
The landlord applied for an order to terminate the tenancy and evict the tenants due to non-payment of rent. The tenants did not attend the initial hearing on June 5, 2024, and the order was issued on June 17, 2024. The tenants then requested a review of the order, which was denied on September 4, 2024. The tenants continued to request further reviews, which were also denied, with the final review order issued on December 17, 2024.
